To define is to limit – dive into the ethereal embrace of Anna Arco

Stockholm-based musician, artist, composer and producer whose dark, melodic and experimental pop seamlessly blends folk, jazz, hip hop and electronica. Even her artist name carries a manifesto: a play on “anarchism” – an archos, without rulers or leaders – reflecting her refusal to bow to genres or industry conventions.

With two critically acclaimed albums, spots on international best-of-the-year lists, numerous live shows in Sweden and Europe, and a Master’s degree in Jazz from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Arco is a boundary-defying artist who combines depth, virtuosity and uncompromising artistry. Praised for her originality and emotional power, described as “mesmerising, heartbreaking, challenging and soul-wrenchingly beautiful” (Women in Pop, AUS). Beyond her solo career, she is an in-demand collaborator on vocals, keys, synth bass and percussion.

As a fully independent artist releasing on her own label, Arco not only writes, performs and produces her own music, but also actively shapes a more equitable and sustainable music industry which earned her multiple awards for both her artistry and her work for gender equality in music.

Now in the making of her third album, Songs from the Past – a collection of songs written over many years, pieces left behind from earlier projects. Unlike her previous synth-driven alt-pop, this album draws on the music Anna Arco grew up with, blending echoes of Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon with a modern pop sensibility. Scheduled for release in 2026, the album is a testament to her ability to create something deeply personal by always putting the art first.

In international press, Anna Arco has been described as an artist of rare originality, praised for her ability to merge vulnerability, power, and elegance into music that defies genres. Critics highlight her striking voice, poetic songwriting and innovative production.
